Bills WR Sammy Watkins dealing with yet another injury

Sammy Watkins had hip surgery and an ankle injury last year, and now his foot is bothering him.
The dynamic Buffalo Bills receiver broke a small bone in his foot, Ty Dunne of the Buffalo News reported. He'll be resting for a while, though the team is hopeful he'll be back for training camp. Dunne speculated that it could be a Jones fracture, which ended Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant's 2014-15 season. Watkins had a screw inserted in his foot, Dunne reported.
Watkins could be back by camp, considering it's more than two months away, but the Bills will want to make sure their star wideout is fully healthy before he's back on the field. Watkins is coming off a fine season, with 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns, though he has been overshadowed by fellow 2014 first-round pick Odell Beckham of the New York Giants. But he's still the key to the Bills' passing offense.
The Bills are taking some hits this offseason. Linebacker Shaq Lawson, the team's first-round pick, had shoulder surgery and might not be ready to start the regular season. Now they have to worry about the recovery of Watkins, their most explosive playmaker on offense.
The Bills are trying to end a playoff drought that goes back to 1999, and to do so they probably need the bad news of this offseason to stop.
