Quarterback Robert Griffin III will be released in the upcoming days, now that the Washington Redskins' season has come to an end.
And he knows it, so Griffin cleaned out his locker on Monday and left a few things behind. Not by accident, either.
Take a look.
Provided you can read the 8-point Impact font type, Griffin left one note that was a 107-word insprirational quote from — get this — Mother Teresa. The other, shorter one on top is from the bible — Philippians 3:13, to be specific ...
Griffin refused to speak to media, and so if we're just reading the words, isn't what he's saying super passive aggressive? The statements are meant to be humble ones, to the point of — forget your critics, let them say whatever they say and go about your business. This would appear to be a final bird flip at everyone on his way out of D.C., but under the auspice of being the bigger man.
But perhaps we're wrong here. Maybe Griffin has a chance to go elsewhere, move on from this Redskins mess and make a second act for himself. We earnestly hope he does. We just can't help but think that the guy who loves to say "me" and "I" in responses to team-related questions might be a little too hung up on the past and what people are saying about him.
Plus, someone employed by the Redskins has to take time out of his or her day to finish cleaning out his locker! (Kidding ...)
