There had been rumblings for a while but Rivals100 quarterback Austin Kendall made it
official Tuesday morning by announcing on Twitter that he had decommitted from
Tennessee.
"After many discussions I decided that TN might not be the best option for
me. I think committing early was the right thing to do at the time but it also
limited my options. With my recruitment back open I hope to see what other
opportunities are available. I really don't have anything else to say."
Kendall is a highly coveted prospect and many schools reached out to him
while he was still committed to Tennessee. For now, Auburn and Kentucky are
the two schools that have Kendall's focus.
Auburn recently offered the 6-foot-3, 198-pound signal-caller and he is
hoping to visit some time in April. Kendall's brother plays for the Kentucky
Wildcats and he visited Lexington in late February.
Florida and
Michigan are
two other schools that Kendall will consider.
Last season Kendall complete almost 60-percent of his passes while amassing
4,461 yards and scoring 49 touchdowns.
