Miami Dolphins' sack master Cameron Wake turned 34 earlier this year, and tore an Achilles last Oct. 30 against the New England Patriots.
Neither of those facts, however, were enough to deter the Dolphins from signing Wake to a two-year extension on Saturday. The team announced the agreement on Twitter.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported it is worth $15 million, with $10 million fully guaranteed at signing.
Wake began his career in professional football in the Canadian Football League in 2007, with the BC Lions. He played just two seasons in the league, winning CFL most outstanding defensive player of the year both years.
He signed with Miami in early 2009. After a modest 5.5-sack campaign that year, Wake exploded in 2010, with 14 sacks, 4 pass break-ups and three forced fumbles. That was the first of his four Pro Bowl seasons; Wake was also first-team Associated Press All-Pro in 2012.
