Al Harris and David Johnson no longer with South Carolina

Two South Carolina defensive players are no longer members of the team. Cornerback Al Harris Jr. and defensive end David Johnson are off the team according to coach Will Muschamp.
“They are not longer part of the team,” Muschamp said in a Saturday statement. “We wish them the best.”
Both Harris and Johnson have started games for the Gamecocks. Harris, a junior in 2016, played in 11 games in 2015 and had 25 tackles. Johnson played in 10 games and had 20 tackles.
Harris was a member of the SEC all-freshman team in 2014 and was a three-star prospect in the class of 2014 according to Rivals. His father is former NFL cornerback Al Harris. His dad is most famously known for his interception of Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck in the 2004 NFC playoffs.
Johnson, a redshirt sophomore in 2015, was a three-star recruit in the class of 2013.
