Landon Donovan lets everyone know on Facebook that retirement is treating him just fine

Landon DonovanAs we've stated before at FC Yahoo, 2015 will be a year of change for the United States men's national team. Jurgen Klinsmann will continue his makeover of the senior team by introducing new faces and giving old faces one last hurrah before thanking them for their service.
For American fans, it'll also be a year of change because, for the first time in 15 years, Landon Donovan won't be found on a soccer pitch. The all-time leading scorer of the USMNT and Major League Soccer retired in December after helping the L.A. Galaxy win their fifth MLS Cup and was last seen in Philadelphia last month at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention, where MLS honored him one last time by naming its Most Valuable Player award after him.
At some point, while watching the USA or Galaxy, fans will wonder how Donovan is doing. If Tuesday's Facebook post is any indication, he'll be doing just fine.
In a 178-word, one-emoticon update, Donovan listed what he's been up to, and he is doing exactly what he said he would: seeing the world and spending time with family. The 32-year-old said he's been to Peru and Ecuador "to visit orphanages" and had more time for family and friends "the last 2 months than I had the previous 16 years combined."
The really big news: He got engaged "to the love of my life, Hannah." That would be Hannah Bartell, who started to be seen at L.A. events with Donovan last year.
