Josh Gordon becomes first receiver in NFL history with back-to-back 200-yard games

Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon outpaces the tackle attempt by Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Johnathan Cyprien as he runs for a 95-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Jaguars went on to win the game, 32-28.

Hopefully Josh Gordon has it all figured out.
The Browns receiver has dealt with his share of issues. That's why he was in the supplemental draft after his college career ended prematurely, and that's why he was suspended two games at the start of this season.
But on the field, he is becoming one of the best receivers in the NFL in only his second season.  Gordon's team record of 237 receiving yards in a single game, set last week against the Steelers, lasted all of one week because he broke it himself on Sunday. Gordon's 95-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter pushed him over 200 yards for the game.
Before Sunday, no NFL player had ever had back-to-back 200-yard receiving games. Jerry Rice didn't do it. Calvin Johnson hasn't done it. Randy Moss, Don Hutson and Marvin Harrison never did either. Gordon is the first in history to accomplish that feat. He finished with 261 yards and two touchdowns on 10 catches. The Browns lost 32-28 to the Jaguars, as they did last week against the Steelers, but you can't blame Gordon.
Gordon had his incredible two-week streak with quarterbacks Jason Campbell for most of last week's game and Brandon Weeden starting this week. The quarterback doesn't really matter for Gordon.
The only thing that can stop Gordon is the trouble he always seems to find. His college career was cut short because of marijuana issues. His suspension this year came for violating the league's substance abuse policy, for what he said was taking cough syrup laced with codeine, which he said was for strep throat. He faces a year-long suspension for the next positive test. That's one reason, despite all of the talent, the Browns shopped him in trade talks before this year's deadline.
The Browns didn't trade him, and that was pretty lucky. As long as Gordon understands that his career depends on making smart choices, there's no question he can be one of the best in the league for many years. It's up to him.
