Vince Young's NFL career looked to be in trouble when he couldn't make the Buffalo Bills' roster last year. It really seemed dead when training camps started and he still wasn't on a team. When the Green Bay Packers signed Young on Aug. 5, he still had a long way to go to actually earn a job. The former third overall pick didn't know the offense, and he wasn't exactly a developmental quarterback at age 30. But it appears Young has earned himself a job. ESPN and the NFL Network reported that Graham Harrell will be cut, which is a clear indication the Packers have seen enough out of Young to trust him as Aaron Rodgers' backup. The only other reserve quarterback on the roster, if Harrell is cut as expected, is B.J. Coleman, a 2012 seventh-round pick who played most of the fourth quarter against Seattle after Young and will probably end up on the practice squad. Young entered the game during Green Bay’s second possession in the third quarter, and led his team on an 11-play, 80-yard touchdown drive, which lasted 5:57 minutes. He scrambled for 21-yards on the second play, and capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Amosa. The last time Young threw a touchdown pass in an NFL game occurred when he quarterbacked the Philadelphia Eagles against the Seattle Seahawks on December 1, 2011. Of course, Young threw four interceptions, too, and Philadelphia was defeated, 31-14. Young completed 6-of-7 passes for 41 yards and a touchdown against Seattle, and also rushed for 39 yards. Harrell was unimpressive yet again, going 6-of-13 for 49 yards. Unless the Packers have an unforeseen plan up their sleeves, it appears Young will be back on a NFL roster this season. That's a pretty fun comeback story.
