1920 - Senators' Walter Johnson wins his 300th game vs Detroit.
1929 - Gump Worsley, Canadian ice hockey player (d. 2007) is born.
1967 - Mickey Mantle's 500th HR off Oriole's Stu Miller.
1972 - In Willie Mays first game as a NY Met his homer beats SF Giants, 5-4.
1977 - KC Royals Jim Colborn no-hits Texas Rangers, 6-0.
1977 - Roy Halladay, Philadelphia Phillies star pitcher is born.
1986 - Reggie Jackson hit his 537th HR passing Mickey Mantle into 6th place.
