1943 - Tony Esposito, Ontario, NHL goalie (Chicago Blackhawks) is born.
1946 - Brooklyn Dodger Ed Head no-hits Boston Braves, 5-0.
1950 - First major league day game completed under lights (Phils 6, Braves 5).
1951 - Babe Didrikson-Zaharias wins LPGA Richmond Women's Golf Open.
