Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was reportedly shot after a fight in a Dallas club early on Sunday morning, according to Rebecca Lopez of WFAA TV. The incident occurred at the V Live club in Dallas, where a total of three people were shot, according to Lopez.
Talib suffered a minor leg injury from the gunshot wound and the Broncos have been "in touch" with him in order to find out more information, according to Mike Klis of 9News. The Dallas Morning News reported that the victims hospitalized were being treated for "non life-threatening injuries," while Jeff Darlington reported that Talib was released from the emergency room on Sunday.
We'll update when there is more information on the incident and Talib's status. The Broncos are scheduled to make their visit to the White House to meet the president after winning the Super Bowl this year.
Talib is one of the best cover cornerbacks in the league and helped the Broncos take home a Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl 50 earlier this year. He's a three-time Pro Bowler, appearing in the game in each of the last three years and was a second-team All-Pro player in 2013. He is a major part of Denver's defense after snaring three interceptions last season.
In April 2015, Talib and his brother were under investigation for their involvement in an aggravated assault in a Dallas nightclub. No formal chargers were filed for Talib in that incident.
