Baylor running back Devin Chafin has been dismissed.
Chafin was arrested in March when he and a female student were caught in Oklahoma allegedly bringing back marijuana from Colorado on a spring break trip. He was suspended after the arrest.
Chafin was also mentioned in an ESPN Outside the Lines report for allegedly assaulting a woman multiple times in 2014. The OTL report emerged in May as OTL investigated the way Baylor and the Waco Police Department handled allegations against football players.
In the April 2014 case, a woman told Waco police that Bears running back Devin Chafin grabbed her arm and slammed it against a car, in front of teammates and another witness. She provided photos of bruises on her arm to police. She told police that, weeks earlier, Chafin had grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against a wall, then threw her to the floor and kicked her, according to a police report.
Chafin had 583 yards and nine touchdowns in 10 games in 2015. He had 383 yards in 2014 as a sophomore and scored eight touchdowns. He finishes his Baylor career with 1,261 total rushing yards and 21 scores along with five catches for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Since he was suspended for the spring, Chafin wasn't a part of the team's depth chart. Both Shock Linwood and Johnny Jefferson ran for 1,000 yards or more in 2015 and return to the team, though Linwood missed spring practice because of a foot injury.
