The Houston Texans faced the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday without second-year defensive end Jadeveon Clowney after he was ruled out by team trainers due to a foot injury.
Clowney, apparently, was not pleased with the decision.
ESPN's Ed Werder tweeted the following:
And his colleague, Lisa Salters, reported on-air that Clowney was agitated and felt he could have played.
NFL Network's James Palmer tweeted that Clowney was upset, but more because he couldn't contribute, and would return to NRG Stadium for the game after handling a "family matter."
The No. 1 overall pick in 2014, Clowney has played in just 17 of 32 games in his young career due to various injuries. His rookie season was cut short when he underwent microfracture surgery, and dealt with foot, ankle and back issues earlier this season.
UPDATE: Regardless of how upset he was, Clowney did return to the stadium to watch his teammates face the Chiefs.
