For those not into the hip hop or celebrity gossip scene, here's a quick rundown of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson's history with the rapper Future.
Wilson started dating Ciara, the famous singer. Ciara was Future's fiance at one point, but they broke up. Ciara and Future have a child together. Ciara and her (and Future's) child showed up at some Seahawks practices last year. That didn't make Future happy. There have been a lot of passive aggressive social media messages. Future told XXL Magazine he was suspicious of Wilson's "evil" moves when it came to photo ops with his son.
Basically, Future is likely a touchy subject for Wilson. And presumably that works both ways.
So when Carolina safety Tre Boston sacked Wilson in the first half of Sunday's divisional playoff game, he knew where to hit Wilson where it hurt most, doing a dance by DJ Esco that is from Future's "Where Ya At" video. (H/t to SB Nation for putting it all in one GIF):
