Jonathan Toews had best-selling NHL jersey in 2015

The NHL released its list of the best-selling jerseys from its online store for 2015, and it’s a handy reminder that outdoor games move product and the Chicago Blackhawks are crazy popular.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews topped the list for the first time, no doubt fueled by jersey sales from the team’s appearance in the Winter Classic as well as their Stanley Cup championship victory. He was third last season.

Patrick Kane, who led the NHL in jersey sales last season, was No. 2.

8. Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens

9. Ryan McDonagh, New York Rangers

10. Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers

 

For the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sidney Crosby dropped from No. 2 to No. 5, while Evgeni Malkin dropped out of the top 10. The Penguins had a Stadium Series game in 2014 that fueled those sales. They also introduced their retro jerseys in late 2014.

Zach Parise, Carey Price and Ryan McDonagh are new to the list. In the case of Parise and Price, how many of those were purchases of the 2016 Stadium Series and Winter Classic jerseys?

Also new is rookie Connor McDavid, who moved a ton of merchandise in six months of being with the Edmonton Oilers.
