No work was accomplished in Kansas City today. We can say that pretty confidently based on the number of people who showed up at the Kansas City Royals' World Series championship parade.
Based on how much blue we're seeing in there, we're guessing a record number of sick days were taken by residents of the city.
Some fans even gave up on driving down to the area, abandonning their cars on a nearby freeway and just walking the rest of the way to the parade. It made for this somewhat eerie scene.

The festivites were supposed to begin at noon Central, but the Royals were a little late. That seems fitting when you consider the team's run to a title.
