Dodgers RHP Josh Beckett won't return this season

Josh Beckett won't return to the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, and the injured pitcher is mulling retirement.
He went on the disabled list for the third time Aug. 4 with a left hip impingement after being on the DL in July for the same injury.
The right-hander was 6-6 with a 2.88 ERA in 20 starts.
Beckett says he doesn't think he can continue his career without having surgery, and he won't make that decision until the offseason. He also plans to discuss with his wife whether he wants to attempt another comeback next year.
Neck problems and numbness in his right hand have troubled Beckett for the past few years. It got to the point where he learned how to drive with only his left hand.
Beckett's first time on the DL was in March, when he had a bruised right thumb.
