American MLB player (LA Dodgers-Cy Young 1962) is born.
1944 - Chicago Cubs Bill Nicholson hits 4 HRs in a doubleheader.
1955 - NY Yankees Bob Cerv & Elston Howard are 1st to hit consecutive pinch HRs.
1979 - George Brett gets his 1,000th hit.
1984 - KC Royals Dan Quisenberry gets his 200th career save.
